Easy to assemble. There are two parts that come together for the base. Just be careful to put them in correctly. The remote DOES NOT come with batteries, so you will need 2 AAA batteries. You can still operate the features on the unit itself in case you don't have batteries handy when it arrives. Very quiet, and the speeds enough to feel a difference in my living room which doesn't get much circulation.
